Building the ecosystem

We advised an external donor worried about future pandemics to support the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security (CHS) with $1,076,000 in general support to strengthen its pandemic prevention research and advocacy. We will work closely with CHS on efforts to safeguard advanced biotechnologies and bolster pandemic preparedness. This work is led by Dr. Tom Inglesby and Anita Cicero in collaboration with CHS’ team of scholars, research analysts, and support staff.

We expect this grant will enable CHS to continue producing high-quality research that will meaningfully impact the broader pandemic prevention field, including its efforts to inform senior decision-makers in the US and internationally on specific policies that can substantially enhance resilience against pandemics and other biological risks.
