Mission and Strategy
We launched Sentinel Bio to make pandemics history within our lifetimes.
To achieve this bold vision, we research and support strategic solutions that reduce risks from the misuse of biotechnologies and prevent outbreaks from becoming catastrophic pandemics. We continuously seek approaches that are severely neglected yet have the highest possible leverage across three mission areas:
Understanding the drivers and mitigants of
catastrophic pandemics
Strengthening safeguards
on advanced biotechnologies
Bolstering global pandemic preparedness
In the near term, we are relentlessly focusing on a narrow set of urgent priorities around safeguarding specific technologies and promoting the development of pandemic countermeasures.
Over time, we expect to steadily expand our scope and ability to seize a broader set of opportunities for achieving our vision.
People
Sentinel is led by a small team of experienced leaders in global health, pandemic prevention, and biosecurity.
We are advised and governed by world-class experts in strategic research, technological innovation, infectious disease control, and high-impact philanthropy. Our team and advisors are based in the U.S., Netherlands, and Singapore, reflecting our global mission and reach.
